This DVD traces the life and work of Edmund Arrowsmith, Lancashire Martyr, from his birth in 1585 near Ashton-in-Makerfield to his execution on Lancaster Moor in August 1628, in drama, documentary and live location footage. Including: early days and education, undercover priest, prison, trial and execution. Filmed on location in Lancashire, including Ashton-in-Makerfield, Hoghton Tower, Brindle, Preston, Lancaster Castle and Lancaster Moor. Presented by Christopher Robson, a practising Catholic, who discusses the political and legal situation of the time, and offers reflections on the significance of Edmund Arrowsmith's life and martyrdom for us today.
