Mother of God Icon, of the type 'Glykophilousa' or sweet-kissing. This icon shows the Holy Mother of God and Virgin Mary bending over in a tender embrace to kiss her Divine Son. Icon on hollowed-out wood. Individual colours are screen-printed, then the icon is hand-finished with imitation gold leaf. These exquisite icons are the next-best thing to full hand-painted icons. Made in Greece, with wax-sealed certificate of authentication on reverse. Suitable for wall-hanging, and also for standing using built-in stand.
